hope everyone is ready for Spring Break. It has been a very exciting term since we returned from the Winter Break. If it feels like a lot has been happening at the school over the last few months, it is because there has been. When we return from Spring Break, we will have all the excitement of the spring term to look forward to, including the emergence and growth of the UA Garden for this school year, the UA Carnival, the UA Gala, performances and concerts, various Outdoor Ed Camps and other experiential ed excursions, graduation, and many other wonderful experiences for students inside and outside the classroom.
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize a long-standing contributor to the UA community. Ms. Régnier will be retiring from her role at UA on March 31. I know I can speak for the community when I say that she will be missed greatly after giving so much to UA over the last 7 years. She has taken on multiple roles over the years at UA, most recently supporting the Finance Department and interacting with every UA family at some point each year. While I will miss Ms. Régnier, I am very happy that she will get to live out her retirement dreams of gardening, bird watching, and enjoying a slower pace of life on Vancouver Island. To ensure a smooth transition, I am pleased to introduce Ms. Hiraldo, who will be taking over Ms. Régnier’s position starting at the end of March.
I hope everyone enjoys a chance for some rest over the next two weeks. I know I am ready for a break to rest up for all the excitement of the spring term.
Yours in education,
Mr. Slinger
Head of School
