The field trip to Piva Restaurant gives the Cooking Club Grade 6/7 students a hands-on look at how food is prepared in a real restaurant, building practical life skills such as teamwork, communication, and food literacy. This experience supports the BC Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies (ADST) curriculum and aspects of Career Education, which emphasizes experiential, real-world learning, and aligns with the First Peoples Principles of Learning by valuing learning through experience, relationships, and community connections.

Students will investigate how things move and experiment with different forces such as pushes and pulls to uncover some fantastic things that forces can do through the hands-on exhibits at Science World. They will also be able to look at different materials that are used at Science World and properties associated with these materials. In addition, students will be introduced to different aspects of community by taking the Skytrain to and from Science World.

Students will visit the Asian Centre at UBC to learn about traditional Chinese and Korean percussion music through guided demonstrations and interactive listening experiences. This free educational visit helps students explore how rhythm, instruments, and performance reflect culture, history, and community. The experience supports the BC Arts Education 8–9 curriculum by engaging students with music from diverse cultures and encouraging reflection on how the arts communicate meaning.
