Our community of exceptional parent leaders and volunteers has been incredibly busy putting together the UA Carnival and the 25th Anniversary Gala, our two largest community events, both coming up within the next month or so! These are two events that help us continue to “build the dream” for our students.

The UA Carnival returns to UA on Saturday, April 11, from 11am to 3pm. After the massive success of our inaugural carnival, this year’s event promises even more laughter and connection with thrilling games, delicious food, and even more student and staff musical performances. It is a wonderful day for families of all ages to celebrate the spirit of our community, so get your tickets, bring some friends and be ready for a fantastic day!

Once again, running alongside the carnival is the UA Silent Auction. This year’s collection features class artwork created by our talented students, along with “hot items” and exclusive UA experiences that you won’t want to miss. Please also keep a close eye on your inbox next week for the launch of our Silent Auction, and you can take a peek in person at the Carnival itself!

Following the carnival, we will gather for a historic milestone: the UA 25th Anniversary Gala, “Silver Soirée,” on Friday, May 8, at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown. This elegant evening will feature dinner, dancing, and a walk down memory lane as we honour the people and stories that have shaped Urban Academy over the last quarter-century. You will see and hear from some familiar faces of UA’s history and join us as we look ahead and celebrate all that is to come! Early bird ticket pricing for the Gala is available until April 15.

None of this would be possible without the tireless dedication of our community. We want to extend a massive thank you to our hardworking Carnival and Gala committees. These groups of devoted parents have spent countless hours behind the scenes bringing these events to life. We also want to recognize the amazing community volunteers, both parents and students alike, whose energy and helping hands are the heartbeat of these celebrations.

We’ll see you soon, eating popcorn and cotton candy, or with your dancing shoes!

Yours in Development
