We would like to thank our students and teachers for a quick response to today’s earthquake. While some classes did not feel anything and are unaware of it still, the classes that did feel the tremor responded appropriately. We are fortunate to be in a well designed and well built building for situations such as this.
On to the weekly update…
We are thrilled to share some exciting news about our Annual Giving Campaign throughout the fall and into the winter. Together, we exceeded our goal by raising just over $203,000 toward programs, extracurriculars, facility and furniture, emergency supplies and financial aid!! Your contributions directly enhance the student experience, and we are so grateful for this incredible show of support. We made it to 50% participation — so like the name Annual Giving states, there is always an opportunity to participate to be able to push us closer to that full participation mark which is always our primary goal. We invite you to participate whenever the timing permits.
Now, as we look ahead, UA Carnival is right around the corner! A huge team of parents has been working tirelessly to bring this event to life, and we can’t wait to celebrate together! Get your tickets (only $5) here and come to participate in the games, watch the UA rock band perform, win a cake in the cake walk, try your hand at Dance Dance Revolution — bid on the student art or silent auction items, connect the community and have fun. Rumour also has it that a number of your favourite teachers and possibly even our Head of School will be taking the plunge in the dunk tank!

Keep your eyes open for the launch of the silent auction coming out early next week, which will include some wonderful adventures, UA experiences, items and student work! These sorts of events, especially when they are in their very first year, take an amazing number of volunteers to plan and roll out but we know the experience will all be worth it!
