Dear UA Parents,

The time has come, the Virtual UA Gala is tomorrow night! By now, most of you will have picked up your Graze Box to enjoy during the event – don’t even think about sneaking the cookie out of the box before tomorrow night. A big shout out to Michel Watson and the other Gala volunteers for making this event happen. I know it was a lot of work to organize something that we could all enjoy virtually. Also, thank you to the staff and students who have contributed to the entertainment. Make sure you are in front of your screens tomorrow at 7:00 pm. I look forward to sharing my acting debut with all of you, from what I have been told it is hard to tell the difference between the new actors and the Emmy award-winning actors. Also, everyone is welcome to participate in the virtual silent auction which will close at 9.30 pm Saturday evening.

As I mentioned last week, Wesgroup will begin expanding their construction footprint on the site. The last day we will have access to the back parking lot is Thursday, May 20. As of Friday, May 21, fencing will be installed, closing off the parking lot and leaving only the driveway to the roundabout for UA. The new parking lot down the laneway is almost complete and will be ready for use by our staff and JK/K parents with parking passes. We will provide a more detailed plan next week for everyone. Thanks in advance to the entire community for your patience and cooperation as we go through yet another change. In addition, please be cautious next week when entering the parking lot behind the school as Wesgroup will have some large trucks in and out of their site all week, but mainly outside of our pickup and drop-off times.

Next week you will receive the UA Parent Survey. This is an important annual initiative that gathers information from our community that will help inform our planning for the coming year. The survey will be emailed to the main contact in each household, please complete it together if both parents wish to offer feedback.

I hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend and some nice weather. I know I am looking forward to a visit with my daughter who is turning 25 today. It is hard for me to believe that she is 25, the years go quick. Make the days count.

Yours in education,

Mr. Slinger
