As we reflect on the achievements of our athletes this past spring, we are filled with pride. From the excitement of ultimate frisbee to the precision of badminton, and the endurance of track and field, our UA Lions have shown remarkable dedication, skill, and sportsmanship.
Grades 5-7 Ultimate Team
The Grade 5-7 Ultimate team kicked off their season with enthusiasm and determination. Despite facing tough competition, they showcased their ability to adapt and work together as a cohesive unit. Their first games were a testament to their training and teamwork, and they continued to improve throughout the season. Their efforts culminated in the ISEA Championships, where their teamwork and strategy stood out.
Track and Field
Grades 3-7 Track and Field Team
The younger track and field athletes competed at the VES Track Meet at UBC, showcasing their talents in various events. Despite challenging weather conditions, they achieved notable placements in the 100m, 200m, 300m, and 800m races, and participated in relays, shot put, and long jump events. Their dedication was evident, and they are eagerly anticipating the ISEA Track Championships.
Grades 8-12 Track and Field Team
Our senior track and field team had a busy and successful season, competing in events such as the VOC meet at Mercer Stadium and the Burnaby/New Westminster Championships. They demonstrated their skills and perseverance, with several athletes qualifying for the High School Fraser North Zone Track and Field Championships. A standout moment was Matthew Terepocki Grant’s silver medal win in the shot put event at the 2024 BC School Sports Track & Field Provincial Championships in Nanaimo.
