Our Finance Team has fielded a number of questions lately with regard to UA’s Annual Giving Campaign. So we thought we should take the opportunity to highlight a foundational aspect of Urban Academy that is not always widely realized: Urban Academy is an independent, non-profit organization.

Operating as a non-profit means that every tuition dollar received is reinvested directly into our educational programs to enhance the student experience. Tuition fees strictly cover our core day-to-day operating expenses and operating reserve required to ensure long-term institutional stability. Complementing this, all contributions raised through Annual Giving, PAX and our parent-led events like UA Carnival and Gala are directed right back into elevating student programming and activities.

The Annual Giving Fund serves a distinct and vital role in the financial structure of a non-profit independent school. While tuition sustains our daily operations, Annual Giving enables us to pursue the significant facility and program enhancements that we have been sharing with you lately. Our faculty and staff continue to develop ambitious plans for what our students can experience and achieve, and your philanthropic support is the catalyst that transforms those visions into reality.

We approach financial stewardship seriously. As I have worked with other ISABC schools previously, I would like to take this opportunity to attest that Urban Academy has and continues to spend your contributions responsibly and thoughtfully.

Every dollar entrusted to the school is managed with strict discipline, ensuring that all contributions are spent responsibly, prudently, and precisely as intended.

Each and every contribution made to the Annual Giving Campaign is deeply appreciated and eligible to receive an official charitable tax receipt. We remain profoundly grateful for your partnership, dedication, and continued investment in the future of our students.

Sincerely,

Hamid Zamani, Director of Finance
