We likely don’t need to tell you as parents, but raising and educating children today involves navigating a rapidly changing landscape! The UA vision centres on preparing students for whatever the future holds. Achieving this requires an active partnership between school and home, as learning naturally extends beyond the classroom.

To support this shared responsibility, Urban Academy regularly shares information through parent education, tackling a wide range of topics. You will now see that these online seminars are called Leading Conversations For Future-Ready Families.

Designed as an ongoing resource for our community, the series offers a space to explore key topics, modern challenges, and practical information relevant to educating and raising children today. We will be keeping them brief (about 30 minutes), and they will include the sharing of information followed by an interactive Q & A.

Our intention is to help prepare students for the future together, by supporting their emotional resilience, digital wellness, practical decision-making, and academic success. Some sessions will be more relevant to families of students with specific ages, and others will be relevant for all. They will always be recorded and available afterwards.

This year’s first session took place on September 21 and covered the topic of ‘Technology and Digital Citizenship in Our Youth’. How to navigate online environments, digital safety and online accountability were discussed.

Further details to come, but Junior School Parents, mark your calendars for November 3 as the Leading Conversation is that of ‘UA Junior School Difference: Partnership, Early Intervention and Belonging’.

By coming together to examine topics such as these, we strengthen the foundation that helps our students navigate the world with confidence and thoughtful judgment. Schedules, topic announcements, and registration details will be shared throughout the year. We are looking forward to having you join us!

Yours in Leading Conversations,

UA Educational Leadership Team
