As we close another productive week, we are thrilled to share some recent data that powerfully illustrates the high level of academic achievement Urban Academy Students are reaching across all grade levels at Urban Academy. This data came to us as an Independent School Profile report from the Ministry of Education, highlighting student academic performance over the last 5 years.

Evident in the graph below, UA Middle School students are demonstrating exceptional proficiency in the Foundational Skills Assessment. They are developing the robust reading, writing, and critical thinking skills needed to excel as they move into their senior years.

Senior Students across BC are required to write Literacy Assessments in Grades 10 and 12 and a Numeracy Assessment in Grade 10. As you can see below, UA Students continue to distinguish themselves, consistently performing at a level that significantly exceeds the provincial average in the mandatory Graduation Assessments. This comparison is a clear indicator of the exceptional rigour and effectiveness of our curriculum and instruction.

These remarkable results affirm that the Urban Academy environment provides unparalleled preparation for future success. We are distinguished by a strong tradition of academic excellence and a commitment to nurturing well-rounded, future-ready learners. Rigorous academic programs challenge students to think critically, explore their passions, and strive for personal bests. With small class sizes and dedicated faculty, students receive personalized support that fosters both high achievement and intellectual curiosity. Consistently strong results in these standardized assessments are another indicator of our commitment to a strong and robust academic program and to making sure our UA students are stretched.

More than teaching courses, we are ensuring our graduates are not just ready for post-secondary education but are truly positioned to thrive in an increasingly complex and ever-changing world.

Thank you once again for partnering with us in your child’s education. We look forward to celebrating even more academic successes together.

Yours sincerely,

Ms. Manifold – Acting Principal, Middle School
Mme. Dumortier – Acting Principal, Senior School
