What a great way to finish the school year off. Today we held our year-end assembly which allowed us to celebrate our UA Graduates one more time in front of the whole school. We had our annual ‘Step-Up’ Ceremonies which saw our JK’s, Gr 3’s, and Gr 7’s, figuratively and literally, step up to the next level of the school. The entire Junior school welcomed the JK’s to the 2nd floor, the Middle school welcomed the Gr 3’s to the 3rd floor, and the Senior School welcomed the Gr 7’s to the 4th/5th floors. Such a great tradition!!
The end of the school year creates a natural time in the calendar to be reflective of the year that was.
First to our UA Graduating Class of 2024 – Congratulations!!! You did it!! Your hard work, resilience, and dedication have enabled you to reach this significant milestone. You have all grown so much during your time at UA, with many of you being a part of UA for over a decade. As you step into the next chapter of your lives after UA, we know you will carry the foundational values, knowledge and skills that you learned at UA. You will always be ‘Lions’ and we look forward to hearing about your future adventures.
To our families – thank you for your ongoing support and partnership throughout the year. It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child, it can also be said that it takes a community to build a school. Your involvement and encouragement of our students and staff are a significant part of the overall positive atmosphere of UA. Together, we continue to create a school where students feel safe and are valued for who they are, and a place they are able to thrive both academically and personally.
To our dedicated UA staff – what a team! It is a privilege to share the responsibility of nurturing and teaching all of the wonderful students we have at UA. You do it with passion, commitment and professionalism. Through all of the ups and downs of a school year, you have made this past year exceptional both in and out of the classroom. Enjoy some time to rest and rejuvenate over the summer months.
To our students – you are the reason we are all here, you bring life to Urban Academy. I would like to commend you all for your hard work, perseverance, and enthusiasm. Each of you contributes to the culture of our school in your own way. I am excited to see what the future holds for you. HAGS!! (Parents, that is Have A Good Summer in yearbook language!)
