This week, we are excited to share the incredible impact of our community’s collective generosity and the tangible ways your contributions are enriching the student experience at Urban Academy. Our recent Carnival was a resounding success, raising $15,000 that will be directly allocated toward our garden program and the expansion of enhanced technology education and opportunities for our students. These funds ensure our children have access to both natural wonder and the tools necessary so we can truly educate them for tomorrow.

In addition to these recent event successes, our advancement efforts from last year have been put to work across the school over the last number of months, resulting in new musical equipment and significant improvements to our 4th and 5th floor common learning spaces with additional furniture for study and connection. Those who drop off underground will also see a wonderful new sandbox for our youngest learners in the Rousseau House.

We let the community know earlier, but are proud to share again that this year’s annual giving campaign raised a remarkable $223,000. These vital funds are being carefully managed as we look toward the future, and they will be used to fund a variety of additional projects and facility enhancements over the coming year. We will regularly update the community as improvements and upgrades continue.

None of these “extras” would be possible without the generosity and commitment of our families to UA’s growth. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many parent groups that drive our advancement program, including PAX, for their tireless work in many areas, including the hot lunch and used uniform programs, as well as the dedicated volunteers behind the Carnival and the Gala. Your support ensures that we can continue to provide the exceptional environment and specialized resources we want to see for every UA student.

Yours in development & infrastructure,

Dylan Hayden (Director of IT & Infrastructure), and Sonja Kennedy (Director of Development)
