Head of School’s Weekly Message
August 28, 2020
Hello UA Parents,
It is hard to believe this is the final UA Weekly Update in the month of August. I hope you have all been able to get outside this past week and enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having. I have had a busy week with numerous calls with Ministry personnel and other ISABC Heads of School regarding BC’s back to school plans and protocols. Information is changing and being updated regularly and the administrative staff at UA is doing an excellent job remaining patient and flexible as the planning evolves around the province. This week’s update has quite a bit of information for you so please take a few minutes to read through the update.
I am still awaiting word from the Ministry of Education regarding the final approval of the UA return to school plan that we submitted last week. Public School plans were approved this week and we have been told that Independent School plans will be approved early next week. I will keep you posted on any developments.
Next week the UA teaching and support staff will return to campus. We will spend the week reviewing our Restart Plans to ensure that all of the staff are familiar with the expectations regarding new protocols that are in place to keep both students and staff safe and healthy.
As we get prepared for the school year to start in just over a week you can expect a few more emails in your inbox prior to next week’s UA Weekly Update on Friday. A couple of emails to look for will be information about Data Validation through MySchool that all families will need to complete, a message from Mrs. Beaumont and myself regarding the progress to date on the 5th Floor project which Mrs. Beaumont is leading for us, and more information regarding the virtual Back to School Celebration on September 3.
Enjoy what looks to be another sunny weekend for us.
