An Annual Celebration
A significant fundraising event that helps us equip students with the necessary opportunities and materials required for an exceptional education is our Annual Urban Academy Gala. The parent-run Gala Committee plans an exciting evening event in April that truly is helping us to build our dream. Over 250 parents and community members join us for dinner, entertainment, live and silent auctions, and the always anticipated student art showcase.
Our 2023 Gala will be held in person on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Executive Plaza Hotel Coquitlam in Coquitlam. It will be a wonderful celebration of the UA Community and an opportunity to integrate student work and talent into the event.
On May 6, 2023, we will host our annual fundraising gala with a Secret Garden theme. We invite you to join us as we celebrate our 21st year in education! More details about our gala can be found at www.urbanacademygala.org.
Urban Academy is excited that the Gala this year will be raising funds to purchase those extras that we would like to have for our students. Specifically, funds raised will purchase items for completing the Let’s Get Moving Campaign, and to convert all of our decks to become spaces to play, climb, connect, relax, study and MOVE!

Live and Silent Auction Items
Our Gala Procurement Team is currently gathering items for the silent and live auction portions of the event. Do you have tickets to shows or sporting events? Perhaps a timeshare in Mexico or a condo in Whistler that you could contribute for a weekend? Or other fun experiences or items to donate to the auction? If so, fill in the donation form and email it to gala@urbanacademy.ca to connect and share your ideas.
Sponsorship
Does your company sponsor community events, or support non-profit initiatives? If so, sponsorship opportunities are also part of the Urban Academy Gala. Sponsorship levels start at $1,000 and can offer many opportunities for company exposure and other benefits of the event.
