Head of School’s Weekly Message

January 24, 2020

Dear Urban Academy Families,

It has been a wonderful week at UA. We were pleased to host the ISABC Heads of School meeting for two days this week. They enjoyed seeing our new school and learning about our programs first-hand. We also hosted another very full Admissions Information Evening for prospective families who are interested in UA. Our Kindergarten registration is complete; we are now preparing to assess and admit students in Grade 1 and up, and we will be completing our JK registration. Re-registration materials will be out to current families on January 31 and deadlines are noted at the top of this email.

Our Grades 4 and 5 students are at Mt Seymour for a day of skiing today. They will have a lot of fun, even though it is wet out there. Our Grades 2 and 3 students will have their chance at this activity at the beginning of February. We have included information on Junior clubs again in this email so that families can plan on which co-curricular activities your child might be interested in and what can fit your family’s schedule.

Please join us for the UA Show Choir performance next Wednesday evening. The details are noted below. Our students and their teachers are working hard, and they sound wonderful. Our youngest students have happily provided the “audience” to rehearse for this week and will do so again one more time next week, but we do want an opportunity to share this with our parent community. Come out and enjoy some lovely refreshments, a chance to connect with other parents, and a wonderful show from our students.

Enjoy the weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday morning.
