Dear UA Parents,
Well, we are two weeks into the 2022 part of the school year and I am very happy about how things have been running given the circumstances. As I mentioned in my morning update yesterday, our community has done an excellent job with the daily health checks and having students and staff stay home if they have any symptoms. If you are keeping your child home from school for any reason please remember to fill out our new Absence Form to help us track the information that we are required to send daily to the Ministry of Education.
In my update last evening, I shared a flowchart that provided guidance for COVID-19 symptoms, testing, and returning to school – an updated version is attached to this Weekly Update (the change can be found in the “Return to School/Work” box). To ensure you have the most current information regarding isolation requirements, please visit this BCCDC webpage and bookmark it for future reference.
I am very pleased to introduce and welcome our newest UA Board member, Kate Begent-Connors, Junior School parent. I am sure I can speak for the community when I thank Kate for her willingness to dedicate some time to a Board position. I am looking forward to working with Kate in the months and years to come, as she brings her skill set to the Board.
It was very nice of our parent community, led by PAX, to recognize the hard work of the UA staff with an outstanding Staff Appreciation Day yesterday. The staff were treated to a hot pasta lunch courtesy of Piva Modern Italian, followed up at the end of the day with a gift bag filled with movie tickets and sweet treats. These gestures mean a lot to the staff at UA and are another indication of why UA is such a wonderful community.
