June 30, 2022

Hello everyone,

We have had a number of wonderful school events this week, and felt it was important to send out a final Weekly Update of the school year to highlight them. Our Senior Students did not disappoint on Tuesday with their two performances of Beauty and the Beast Jr. Sometimes it takes challenges such as these to be reminded of how resilient our students (and community members) are. It was also a wonderful opportunity to host a significant performance in the Cheryle Beaumont Theatre, one that had many guests commenting on what a wonderful part of our facility it is. Thank you to the students, and to everyone who took in our final performances of the year. A special acknowledgement goes out to Mrs. Brooke for all her efforts in making the shows happen after a couple of challenging weeks with sick cast and staff members. A very special thank you also to Elizabeth Fletcher, a former UA parent and Board member, who spent countless hours making all of the amazing costumes for the cast – the detail was very intricate and they were fantastic.

Yesterday we celebrated our UA Grad Class of 2022 at our Commencement Ceremony. It was a wonderful event that included families and friends of our Grads, along with a number of UA staff who in some cases worked with these students for over a decade. Check out our social media for some of the photos.

We are also proud to share the list of students who have earned year end awards including two that were awarded yesterday at Commencement to a couple of our deserving Grads. Finally, we will be sending out a Grade 6-12 Update next week that will include the Grade 6-12 school supply list (JK – Grade 5 school supplies are included in tuition) as well as courses that are planned for outside of the timetable, and information on our expanding Experiential Education and Travel plans for the coming year(s).

Have a wonderful summer everyone.

Yours in education,

Mr. Slinger
