Head of School’s Weekly Message

June 24, 2022

Hello everyone,

It is hard to believe that today was the last day of school for the students of UA. While reflecting back on the school year, I am remembering all the ups and downs our UA community endured. I am so impressed at how well our students, staff and parents responded. From the pandemic to construction and space limitations, everyone showed great resilience and adaptability. A perfect example of this adaptability was the need for the school to postpone the performance of Beauty and the Beast from this week to next Tuesday, as well as our UA Commencement which will now happen on Wednesday.

We had a fantastic year-end assembly today in the gym with all the students and staff participating. It was an opportunity to celebrate our UA Grads of 2022, and the students from JK, Grade 3, and Grade 8 who will all be ‘Stepping Up’ to the next level of the school. All these students were welcomed to the next floor by the cheering students of the Junior, Middle and Senior School.

I would also like to take a moment to thank all the volunteers and contributors who help to make UA the incredible school that it is. Without you we would not be able to do many of the wonderful things that we are able to include in the educational and co-educational program. Specifically, a BIG thank you to our UA Board who are so dedicated to the success of the school. Thank you to Rory Langran and Bruno Jury for the time that they have served the Board over the years. Both these parents have come to the end of their service with the Board. Thank you Rory and Bruno!

It looks like the summer weather will arrive just in time for school to be over. I hope all of the students get a break and some rest. We are excited to see them return to UA in September without restrictions and without construction in our building. I wish you all the best over the next couple of months. See you in September!

Yours in education,

Mr. Slinger
