Urban Academy is currently inviting dedicated, team-oriented people to join our support team in Junior School and Out of School Care for the 2024-2025 school year.
Requirements
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Have an excellent rapport with children
- Related experience working in a school setting
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility to work across a range of grades and disciplines
- Experience in using Google Suites for Education for documentation and communication, and assistive technologies to support students with accommodations
- Current Safety Awareness & First Aid for Childhood Emergencies Certificate
- Clear Criminal Records Check
Preference will be given to candidates who also have any of the following qualifications
- EA certificate
- Special Needs license
- Full ECE
- Trauma-informed training
Expectations and Responsibilities
- Uphold Urban Academy’s mission and vision
- Follow BC Child Care Licensing Rules
- Provide classroom support and small group instruction under the guidance of classroom teachers and resource specialists
- Provide playground and classroom supervision during breaks and transitions
- Involvement in our Out of School Care (OOSC) program:
- Transitioning students to and from our OOSC program
- Supervision in our OOSC Program at non-instructional times as required

Urban Academy offers a comprehensive total compensation package including health benefits and RRSP program. The current salary range for this 10-month contract position is $44,794 to $54,919 based on years of experience.
