Our Junior Kindergarten Program allows children to investigate their interests, make new friends, play, grow, learn about interesting age-appropriate concepts, and interact with teachers in ways that extend their thinking. A very strong feature of our program is that all of our teachers have a deep respect for the dignity of each child.
Program Strengths
Educators regularly look for "teachable moments" when students are engaged in learning. The educator will approach students at play in an observant manner and help students to extend their thinking in areas that they are showing a natural interest. ·
Children have a wide range of activities that they participate in that include: science, math, phonics, early literacy, computers, music, drama, French, social studies, and physical education.
Children have plenty of individualized instruction which is one of the many benefits of small class sizes.
Children feel safe because of the caring educators, friendly atmosphere of the school, and the kindness of the older students.
Children enjoy participating in many whole school events such as buddy reading, library time, concerts, whole school assemblies, and sports' day.
We have an 'open door' policy where parents can volunteer and where parental input into their child's program is valued.
